The rock-art sites of Tadrart Acacus are in the Fezzan region of southwestern Libya. The remains of prehistoric communities scattered throughout the mountains include examples of well-preserved rock paintings and frescoes. In 1985 Tadrart Acacus was designated a World Heritage site by UNESCO.
